Kitchen Extension Fulham

This was a difficult one as the client wanted the steel beam to be in one piece so as to avoid the need for a post in the kitchen dining area. In order to accommodate this we had to crane a steel over the top of the house and winch the steel into position.

We designed this flat to accommodate a courtyard allowing plenty of natural light into the guest bedroom/ office. We persuaded the client on this occasion to go for a fully glazed kitchen extension as the kitchen dining area previously suffered from a distinct lack of natural light as the property was surrounded on all sides. The fully glazed kitchen side return allowed them to see the sky that was previously a claustrophobic space.

The client went for quite a few nice additions in this project. We installed underfloor heating in the kitchen/ dining area. We also leveled the inside and outside space to get that inside outside continuity using the same natural slate flooring internally and externally to give a sense of space. The rear opening was made much larger to give a further sense of space and the opening for the large sliding doors made much bigger.

We tailor made a bespoke kitchen to meet the exact requirements of the client also. This incorporate an inbuilt fridge freezer, washing machine and corner unit. The worktop is a composite stone that gives the look and feel of natural stone without the problems associated with it.

A vertical designer radiator was used to give additional heat and to save valuable wall space. All of the architraves and the skirtings were bespoke made to give a modern edge finish. In the hallway we installed low level led lighting which gives a different feel to the hallway in the evening and allows subtle lighting.

Similarly in the bathroom a couple of bath side panel lights offered interesting mood lighting. In the bathroom the client went for very high quality mosaic tiling and a very high standard of finish with duravit white goods. Once again due to the small size of the bathroom we used the trick of having one whole wall as a mirror with the sink mountred against it.
