Loft Conversion Islington
Islington
Case Study, Full Planning permission.
This particular loft conversion in Islington was a bit out of the
ordinary in that it was both in a conservation area and above the 7.5mm
limit which means that some additional building regulations come into
effect.
We
helped this client to gain full planning permission and get through
building regulation stipulations.
Over
and above the ‘normal’ regulations we had to
install a very high standard smoke and heat alarm to all habitable room
in the house. This allowed us to retain the original feature panelled
doors and therefore much of the character of this impressive property.
The client was also very keen to match exactly the staircase below so
that the house could flow naturally from top to bottom.
The
client was also very keen to have a balcony area which made good use of
the fact the property was required to be set back from the front of the
house so as not to be seen from street.
We
also managed to achieve a
clean contemporary look to match the clients wished.
The
shower room
was finished with a ‘wet room’ with frameless panel
glass as the shower enclosure.
